We do not require an injured worker or for that matter, anyone to pay a yearly membership fee to join "Californians Injured At Work" to get our help. Membership is FREE, unlike some political organizations.

Let's make one thing perfectly clear. We ARE NOT a political organization. We DO NOT attempt to influence our state legislators. They are the primary reason that injured workers are in the mess that they are post SB899. Many of them voted for the bill without knowing what it was about or how it would impact California's occupationally injured. Now injured workers all over the State of California suffer because of the passage of one of the most poorly written bills in California history.

Many refer to it as the Workers Compensation Insurer Profit Reform Bill of 2004. And reform profits it did, giving some insurers 300-500% increases in profits. And who suffers? Working Californians suffer!

Our director was a registered lobbyist during the 2003-2004 legislative session, always looking out for the interests of California's occupationally injured. We've been there. We've done that. It doesn't work!

It's going to take the will of the people to make a significant change in this system. We will educate the people of California and inform them of what is going on in the state capitol and keep them abreast of changing events.

We are not affiliated with, backed by, nor do we owe our allegiance to applicants or defense attorneys or insurance companies. We are injured workers who have banded together to do something about the injustices that have been heaped on the backs of California's injured workers. And it's about ALL Californians, not just voters. What about the teenagers who are working in the fast-food and other industries. They deserve an advocate whether they can vote or not.

We will effect a change through public education via our television program, "Injured On The Job," which we produce on a monthly basis and distribute to public & community access television stations around the state. We are not afraid to tell it like it is, and if some egos get stepped on it in the process, so be it. The message that has to get out is more important!

A sad reality is that it costs money to keep up the fight and the production costs at present are coming out of the pockets of our production staff with grant money hopefully being available in the very near future. If you would like to donate to help keep "Injured On The Job" on the air, it would certainly be much appreciated and help defray our production costs, but it is definitely not a requirement of membership!

You can watch your money at work, with each and every episode exposing the fraud and corruption in the system that is meant to protect the occupationally injured. You will see the faces of ordinary Californians like you and I who had the misfortune to become injured in our daily pursuits to try and make a living for our families. You need to see the realities, not the rhetoric that comes down from the Sacramento special interests.

What donations we do recieve, we certainly don't waste it on anything other than the necessities. And our books are open. We have applied for our 501(c)3 non-profit tax status which will allow us to give something back to our donators and benefactors in the form of an income tax write-off.

One thing that is for sure, is that at least you can see where that money is going every month when we pull out the stops and expose those who would try to benefit and profit off of the backs of California's occupationally injured. For those who don't have the programming yet on a community or public access station near you, all of our programs are streamed and archived on the internet on the "Injured On The Job," website located at www.injuredonthejob.tv.
